Self Storage has Become The “Storage”
It’s funny how things change! We used to have to spend a lot of time talking to our customers (and prospective customers) about what self-storage was just a couple of years ago…
And in those days we almost always said “self-storage” because we were trying to differentiate ourselves from other forms of storage – one being the type of storage offered by removal companies – which obviously wasn’t self-storage as the removal firm packed and boxed everything and then stored it while you sorted out your move.
But in terms of the internet (when machines judge the meaning of words for you), we had to be careful not to get mixed up with other types of storage to… and the list is quite an odd-ball mix…
The main one used to be data storage, especially for computer literate types.. but now that we ordinary folk use the internet as much as them, data storage has fallen down the ranks. The next big one was storage for cupboards and under the bed sort of storage – like plastic boxes and those funny things you keep your shoes in on the back on the wardrobe door.
The last was, believe it or not, breast milk storage. We were surprised too! We never thought that people would be searching for this – but as some famous US big-person (who I can’t remember) said, you don’t know what you don’t know! But we know now and believe me there are a lot of nursing mothers who need this help!
