Vinyl record storage

July 29, 2011

Most people buy CDs these days, but for some, there’s nothing like the sound emitted by the playing of a vinyl record. Vinyl provides warmth and immediacy that digital can’t, and as CDs are being gradually replaced by MP3 and digital downloads, vinyl sales are once again on the increase. But the trouble with vinyl is it takes up too much room. In an age where our houses and flats are getting smaller and smaller, we are gradually running out of storage space.

Is there room in our homes in the 21st Century for collections of vinyl records?

For me, nothing looks better than a collection of well-thumbed album covers on a shelf. Even when they are stored on a rack, the CD just doesn’t look as good as a vinyl record. CDs look way too uniform and clean in their plastic cases.

Looking around on the web we have found some very cool storage ideas for records in the past, but this new one really caught our eye. To be fair these record storage ideas are actually pieces by artist David Ellis called, ‘This could be the worst’ and ‘Recollections: Honey Horn,’ but even so we love them, and think they would look great in any modern home.
