Did you know that once the Masters Golf has finished in Augusta, the signage is taken down and put into self-storage?
Over 125 signs are put up on local roads for the Masters Tournament and they all have to be removed after the competition has finished. On top of that 200 ‘No Parking’ signs also erected for the yearly event. The signs are put back into secure storage each year, minus the few that are stolen from local streets. Steve Cassel, assistant director of traffic engineering for Augusta, says that the signs originally said ‘Masters Traffic,’ but this had to be changed to ‘Golf Traffic’ due to fans and collectors borrowing the signs, although there had been no reported theft recently.
